Indian Army is inviting online application to Join Indian army as NCC Special Entry Scheme 55 course (Apr 2024), from unmarried males and unmarried females including wards of Battles Casualties of Indian Army Personnel, for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army.
As per the Join Indian Army Recruitment 2023 notification, male and female regular army personnel will be granted a short service commission for 14 years, i.e. for an initial period of 10 years that can be extended by another 04 years. The selected candidate will be given a fixed monthly stipend for Cadet Training of Rs. 56100. The selected candidates will be given a training of 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. The interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of the Indian Army on or before the last date i.e. 03.08.2023.

- NCC Men – 50 Vacancies (45 for General Category and 05 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army personnel only).
- NCC Women – 05 Vacancies (04 for General Category and 01 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army personnel only).
Age Limit for Join Indian Army Recruitment 2023:
The age limit of the candidates applying for the above post should be between 19 years to 25 years.

Engagement Tenure in Indian Army Recruitment 2023:
1) Tenure of Engagement : Short Service Commission will be granted to Male and Female in the regular Army for 14 years i.e. for an initial period of 10 years extendable by a further period of 04 years. Male & Female officers who are willing to continue to serve in Indian Army after the expiry of period of ten years of Short Service Commission may, if eligible and suitable in all respects, be considered for the grant of Permanent Commission (PC) in the 10th year of their Short Service Commission in accordance with the relevant policies as issued from time to time. Those SSC officers (Male & Female) who are not selected for grant of PC but are otherwise considered fit and suitable, will be given options to continue as SSCOs for a total period of 14 years (including the initial tenure of 10 years) on expiry of which they will be released from Indian Army.
2) Period of Probation : An officer will be on probation for a period of six months from the date he/she receives his/her commission.
Education Qualification to Join Indian Army Recruitment 2023:
Educational Qualification : The candidates applying for the Indian Army Recruitment 2023 must have a degree from a recognized University or equivalent with an aggregate of a minimum of 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in the final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years of three/four years degree courses respectively.
Service in NCC : The candidates should have served for minimum two/three years (as applicable) in Senior Division/Wg of NCC.
