Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2023

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold a Written Examination on 06th August, 2023 for Sarkari Naukri vacancy of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force(CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The Examination will be held in accordance with the Rules for the published by Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India dated 26th April, 2023.

Eligibility for CAPF Recruitment (Assistant Commandant) Exam 2023

o Vacancies: 322 vacancies

o BSF-86

o CRPF-55

o CISF-91

o ITBP-60

o SSB-30


o Age: 20-25 years as of 1st August 2023. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ ST/ OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

o Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from any recognised university or an equivalent qualification.

o Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in the notice.

o Sex: Both male and female candidates are eligible for appointment to BSF, CRPF. However, only male candidates are eligible for appointment in ITBP.

Pay Scale: Pay Level-10 ₹56100-177500 in 7th CPC Pay Matrix

Selection Procedure

Selection will be based on the basis of a written examination to be conducted on 06/08/2023 by the UPSC followed by the Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test to be conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Personality Test/ Interview to be conducted by UPSC.

Application Fee

₹200/- to be deposited in Branches of SBI by cash, or by using the Net Banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card (SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted).
